ABOUT THE ARTIST

Will Bourne is a conceptual artist whose practice centers on observation, documentation, and presence. Working across multiple series, Bourne approaches art as a record of lived experience—treating each work as evidence of a specific moment in time rather than a vehicle for overt narrative or persuasion.

Bourne’s work is rooted in a belief that art functions as both document and presence—carrying traces of process, environment, and the artist’s moment in history. He hopes viewers approach the work with curiosity, sensing not only the subject matter but also the conditions under which it was made.

Bourne earned a BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2004. After graduation, he spent nearly two decades working in the film industry, an experience that shaped his views on process, discipline, and productivity. He has returned to a dedicated studio practice in recent years, continuing a creative lineage informed by both formal training and generational artistic influence.
